Unfortunately, Triumph tends to over-promise regarding accessory availability for new models. In the early days of the Thruxton 1200 and R there were a few items promised that never materialized. I wanted the speed shifter that Triumph talked about for my Thruxton R, but it was never offered.

I have asked if they could use a UK bearing supplier, but I guess as an insurance repair they have to use official Triumph parts. Fortunately it is still winter, but in a few more weeks......

That's interesting. In the US one has to insist on OEM parts. Otherwise, insurance companies will try to use cheaper aftermarket replacements in order to save money.
