I have the AEW silencer made specifically for the 400. I haven't installed it yet. it seems to be very well made, nice welds, finish etc. It has a removable db killer. The looks seem a bit awkward compared to stock but perhaps it will appear different once on the bike. I bought it in hopes of weight reduction as I think the stock silencer (400x) sounds great.

At the moment the most beautiful and most consistent with the 400x design :)

Well I finally mounted the AEW silencer to my 400x. There is a minor interference between the swing arm and the body of the silencer when the swing arm is at it's full extension. Therefor I put the stock one back on. I may try fettling with it at some future time and try again.
What I found, the stock weighs approx 7.5 lbs the AEW weighs about 3.5 lbs. (I don't know just how accurate my scale is so take those weights with a grain of salt) I did start the bike and did a very unscientific analysis and there did not seem to be a significant difference in the loudness at idle or part throttle. It did have a good sound to it. Of course all references to sound are very subjective.
Although I can't say with certainty it may work with the Speed 400 as it has less suspension travel and the swing arm may not drop as far as the 400x at full extension.

Anyone have experience with the AEW stainless steel exhaust silencer from India for sale on Ebay?
Well, I went ahead and bought one since it was at a reduced price on Ebay and I'm favorably impressed on several counts. First, the seller (sparezo) shipped it out the next day after I ordered for free, and kudos to FedEx incredible 6 day delivery from New Delhi to Northern California! Next the silencer is very well made from heavy duty stainless, fit perfectly and looks great. The sound with the db killer/baffle in, is virtually the same as stock but with it removed has a nice bark but not objectionable at all. The only potential weak point I could see would be the single set screw that holds the baffle in place. Haven't had a chance to test ride yet as it's been very wet and cold where I live. With a DNA air filter (next) it should let that great little motor breath freely.

Is it much lighter than stock? My Enfield ones were half the original, significant saving.

Every db killer I have come across had only 1 set screw and I never had any issues with them.

Finally dry and warm enough for a test ride of the AEW silencer on my Speed 400. I Like It! Nice throaty sound with a little bit of decel popping. No dramatic increase in power but it seemed to rev more freely and has nice mid range surge. Love this bike - I've been riding for 50 years and have owned a lot of different bikes and this is right at the top of the list.

Greetings community,

So who has done exhausts on these bikes? Kits, custom, or otherwise?

Only thing i've been able to find online are Zard and Hitchcox.

I'm in the US (Colorado) and picked up my speed 400 about a week ago. Sounds great but i think could maybe sound better.

I've been looking at just getting a shorty megaphone or something comparable from Dime City or something and just welding it on but i'd also kind of like to get rid of the cat too.

I see the O2 sensor on the header, I doubt its a wideband though so any significant change to the exhaust would probable require some ECU adjustment too correct? I don't have huge plans for the bike other than maybe a filter and exhaust. Just curious if i should go ahead and piece something together and exhaust wrap it or wait for the aftermarket manufactures to catch up.

I'm just getting back on motorcycles after about a 15 year gap so i'm a little behind on the latest i guess, either way love the bike.

Thanks in advance for any input.
I bought the Hitchcox slip-on, and it's perfect. Sounds great at all RPMs, and really don't see the need on such a small cc bike for a full system. A+++ on the Hitchcox.
