I have the black K-Speed one and sadly had to remove the lower engine guard to fit it because of the slightly more curved/rounded shape of the front.

I'll say also that the black paint on the pipe is rubbish and scratches or flakes of if you look at it wrong. Not at all impressed.

Hi , I’m wondering , I took my muffler off as part of taking rear wheel off to install my rally raid spoke rims. I think it looks great ,any advise on using bike with stock exhaust ,without muffler ,would be appreciated ,please people that know not just hear say ,with respect

I wouldn’t have thought that you would get away with it for long to be honest, too many NIMBY’s around !. The wheels look great but black ?. should have been gold surely ?.

Hi
I too have purchased a new AEW silencer for the 400x scrambler.

However it won't fit!

I have tried lubricating the pipe that goes to the cat.

But It won't go on!

I noticed there is a split sleeve of tube inside - which i presume is to seal the end where the bolt is - but it all seem s very tight & also close to the swinging arm.

Help appreciated on how you got yours to fit?

I installed mine on a Speed so I'm not sure how much different the fitment is on the scrambler. I removed the split ring sleeve and it has a nice tight fit on the stock cat pipe with no leakage when tightened down. There is adequate clearance between the AEW can and the swingarm on my bike.

Hi
Thank you for the,quick reply.

Fit is same on both bikes.

I checked with my vernier, callers and figured out that the, split tube insert would need removal. But wanted to check....

Have you find the silencer sits very close to the, swinging arm?

Did you have to bend the support bracket over a bit?

No modification necessary on the Speed. I have about 1/2-3/4 inch clearance between silencer and swingarm

So - lots of Copaslip & got the silencer on - good grief - is it tight!!!!!!!!!

Also incredibly close to swinging arm - anyone lese fitted the AEW silencer to a scrambler 400 & how did increase the gap between silencer & swinging arm?

Hey I took mine off about 500 km ago. No problems. Sounds good when gunning it and think the cat gives it some back pressure if it's needed. I added about 2" of pipe to mine just to get it flush with the heat shield

Hi
Help!
The Aew silencer now fitted actually touches the swinging arm , it has actually marked the back of the silencer. Oldgoldie, how did you increase the clearance? I cannot use the bike as I am concerned more damage will occur to the swinging arm.

The silencer cannot be moved over as the existing mounts on the cat dont allow it!

I have written to the manufacturer and supplier. My bike is a March 24 uk bike.
